Melissa Daniels

Dear Neighbors,

My name is Melissa Daniels, and I am excited to be running for the District C seat on the Los Feliz Neighborhood Council. I’ve been proud to call Los Feliz home since 2017, drawn here by its creative spirit, diversity, and deep sense of community - values I have carried with me throughout my life.

Community work has always been a part of who I am. Over the years, I’ve contributed in many ways - from working as a line cook in a homeless youth center in Seattle, supporting the farm working community in the Salinas Valley where I grew up, organizing events through Girl Scouts and youth sports programs, participating in beach cleanups, and working behind the scenes in a local church office.

Today I continue this commitment as a mentor with ManifestWorks, a workforce development program that connects individuals impacted by foster care, homelessness, and incarceration with job opportunities in the film industry. And most recently, I helped develop and activate the Koreatown YMCA’s Fire Relief Care Package program during the LA Fires. This lifelong commitment to service is what motivates me to step forward as your representative.

Professionally, I am a producer, documentarian and small business owner with over 15 years of experience working with global brands and networks. This work has sharpened my ability to lead projects, advocate for diverse voices, and bring people together around shared goals—skills I’m eager to put to work for our community.

District C is the heart of Los Feliz, home to the vibrant Los Feliz Village and the birthplace of so much creative history. I believe our neighborhood deserves thoughtful representation that prioritizes both its rich character and the well-being of the people who live here.

If elected, I am committed to:

Strengthening community bonds by supporting local events, businesses, and initiatives that bring us together.

Listening and advocating for neighbors’ concerns, including the need for accessible and affordable housing.

Promoting responsible development that honors the character of our streets and preserves our neighborhood’s history and charm.

Creating more opportunities for connection, from neighborhood gatherings to supporting wellness and safety programs for all who live, work, and visit here.

My goal is to be a bridge between neighbors and the council, helping to ensure that District C remains a welcoming and thriving place for everyone. Now more than ever, fostering community, open communication and mutual support is essential. I believe together we can protect what we love about Los Feliz while shaping a future that serves us all.

Thank you for your consideration and your vote.

Warmly,

Melissa Daniels
