Dear Neighbors,

My name is Melissa Daniels, and I am honored to announce my candidacy for a District C seat on the Los Feliz Neighborhood Council. Since 2017, I have had the privilege of calling Los Feliz my home, immersing myself in the vibrant culture and rich history that define our community.

Professionally, I am a filmmaker and entrepreneur dedicated to crafting impactful and socially conscious content. As the Founder and Executive Producer of Tidetivity Studios, I lead a diverse team in creating work for global brands. My commitment to authentic storytelling is evident in projects like the National Geographic documentary "The Mission" and my current film "NORITA" Executive Produced by Jane Fonda. In past seasons, I've worked in a television newsroom, ran a staff of 120 for an online music publication, and traveled the world as a filmmaker engaging with folks from all walks of life. Through my work, I have honed skills in leadership, collaboration, and community engagement—qualities I am eager to bring to the Neighborhood Council.

Beyond my professional life, I am deeply committed to social justice and community service. I volunteer as a mentor with ManifestWorks, an organization that connects individuals impacted by foster care, homelessness, and incarceration with job opportunities in the film industry, and recently helped spearhead the Koreatown YMCA's Fire Relief efforts in the aftermath of the January fires. Additionally, I am a certified mindfulness meditation teacher, aiming to foster well-being and resilience within our community.

District C, the heart of Los Feliz, is not only a hub for our beloved cafes, shops, restaurants, and bars but it's also a testament to creative innovation, being the place where Walt Disney began his journey into animation. I am dedicated to preserving and enhancing the unique character of our district by:

- Supporting local businesses to ensure they continue to thrive.
- Advocating for responsible development that honors our neighborhood's history and charm.
- Promoting community programs that celebrate our diverse artistic and cultural heritage.

I am committed to being a proactive and accessible representative for District C, ensuring that your voices are heard, and your concerns addressed. Together, we can build upon the legacy of creativity and community that makes Los Feliz a remarkable place to live.
